whEN you think about the lower east side and graffiti, there a few names that undoudtebly come up easy, sen4, veefer ,and this cat sev. take a walk down any side street and if you dont see a sev tag your a flat out liar . a walk along the water front you'll see a sev tag . a walk to the mailbox to send your abuelito a letter for his birthday yea you guessed it sev's there and he say's tell abuelito hi for him . better yet you decide to take your brand spanking new huffy out for a spin got to get that bottle of water , so you ride down to your local bodega....... yea your man is up there too outside like a greeting that says fuck you very much 1 last year we did our first offical collab making a few t-shirts but we also chopped it up for a short interview . he gave me a brief history lesson on a few of the older cats i grew up with and some wild adventures during the train days and a quick photo shoot.

t76: go ahead rattle them off who are you down with?

sev: sevone dta, wks, td, ogm, sku187, and of course my crew tdt, the dream team ,taking down ,toys however you what!

t76: sev how did you get into the graff game?

sev: well my older brother tev had already been writing and was bringing all these famous graffiti writers to the crib so i think i caught the bug then.

t76: i've sen you up for years i've known you for roughly 20 years when did you start writing?

sev: i started writing in 82' - 83'

t76: at this point i started doing quick calculations in my head and realized homie had been writing for 30 plus years. while he was out bombing i was thinking about baseball cards and flap jacks ( if you dont know what flap jacks are i guess you didn't have chinese friends like i did man they would make all types of shit out of constrution paper.)

t76: well that puts you better then 25 strong in the game.

sev: over 30 man! since the train days.

t76 speaking of the train days do you miss them?

sev: yea man i do we had fun back then but i leave them trins alone i dont need the vandal squad up my ass!

t76; speaking of back in the day ,who was putting it down when you first started.

sev: ahhh damn dudes like lee, mitch177, seen, pj, tracy167, iz the wiz all those rtw cats where doing their thing.

t76: now we've met up at a few shows over the past year, what are your thoughts on artist moving strictly to canvas?

sev: moving stictly to canvas? not sure about all that, but i do have a ton of canvases with a bunch of artistfrom all over the city.

t76: what do you think about stencils and wheat paste? is it graff or street art and do these artist deserve the praise they're getting?

sev; i dont hate my boy cost is doing his thing with the wheat paste thing. so if thats your thing then do it big.

t76; since we're on the topic of wheat and cost any thoughts on banksy?

sev: thats a tough one. dude makes a lot of money i dont get paided to bomb you know , so more power to him. shit....... buy my canvas i'm trying to get some banksy money!

t776: lol

t76: what to you is the difference betwen the cats that were bombing when you started to the dudes doing it now?

sev: a lot of these cats now bomb for 5 or 6 years and think they're superstars! fuck outta here! talk to me when you have 30 plus!

t76: anything you'd like to add?

sev:yea my brother ifone i miss you bro1

t76: wow throw back i remember that giant ifone on the handball court under the bridge.

sev: veefer did that .i'm sure he has pics. try getting your hands on those.

t76: most definitly going to have to hit him up to see if i can get my hands on those. anyway, thanks for chopping it up.
