In this day and age in hip hop I can count on my fingers and toes the number of artist that I still listen to. If you were to ask me about my favorite MC's to rock the mic, I would probably give you the same answer every old school hip hop head would give (in no particular order) Biggie, Nas  and Jay-Z. But there is one MC that has always stood out to me and till this day he's still one of my favorite lyricist. He goes by the name Big Pun. The best way to describe Pun's style was smooth, intelligent and complex all in one. What made him unique was not only his great talent for storytelling but his ability to unleash a barrage of tongue twisting metaphors and making it sound so effortless. Im still jealous of anyone who can recite his lyrics from Twinz (Deep cover '98) without getting tongue tied.

   Pun's claim to fame was the release of his first album "Capital Punishment" which was not only considered a hiphop classic but also made him one of the first latino solo rap artists to go platinum, even earning him a grammy nomination. It's been 18 years since the release of his first album. What better way to celebrate a historic accomplishment than to do a tribute show.

   The folks at the Reveal agency and Avant Gardegallery teamed up along side Liza Rios to put together a special tribute show in his memory featuring a night of fashion, art and music. The show featured not only some incredible art pieces but personal memorabilia such as his Terror Squad jacket and even his personal rhyme book.
