Cotton Hustle.

Isn't it always about the hustle at least for some of us anyway!I peeped this spot on my way to work one morning taking a detour through Sunset Park looking for a place to take a shit. (If you're wondering I didn't find a spot) but i did catch a glimpse of the Cotton Hustle sign wondering what it was. I wanted to stop but ummmm I had more pressing issues to tend to. This happened a few more times over the next month, not having to drop a duce, but passing that sign and wondering what the fuck the Cotton Hustle was. Sooooo, I finally get a day off from work and what do i do? Yup B line over to the spot.

There i met Alberto the owner of the spot. We chopped it up he gave me the run down the retail shop up front and the sweat shop in the back. (I'm kidding there's no sweat shop but they do their own printing for the retail shop up front). They also do printing jobs large and small for local artist and business as part of their screen printing business. I had to ask why they would choose to open a shop on 3rd ave. If you know BK there isnt much foot traffic on 3rd ave. imean for gods sakes its under the BQE.

Interestingly enough his father had this very same spot that he ran his own business for years after he retired , the Cotton Hustle which was occupying a small space in the back took over the entire space and after a renovation opened up as the official Cotton Hustle space. Fast foward Seven years later they're still here and I'm here lucky enough to be shooting the shit with them. I've visited a few times since and  noticed the addition of sneakers. Icouldn't help but ask since it was something new from the last time i was by. Alberto explained it was the logical thing to do with the popularity of the sneaker culture plus they were lucky enough to have their own resident sneaker head who was successfully restoring his own kicks and had been in the game for over 20 years lol no brainer!

The Hustle is continuing to kill shit with their dope selection of tees from my favorite tee that i've dubbed the Biggie face to various Puerto Rican themed tees and local graffiti artist tees. They also have local artist in house once a month on the last friday of every month to show case their work. Check out the attached Photos in the gallery with any luck we'll be featuring a few artist from the Cotton Hustle show cases. I commend these brothers on their hard work continued success to you guys. Check out a few pics from past shows and definitly make time to check out upcoming shows!
